All layers in the layer list belong to a project and can be saved together using the File → Project menu.

Layers can be marked for editing with a single click. Hiding and unhiding in the map window is possible by setting or removing the tick next to the file name.

This folder and the associated layers are always available in the project and cannot be deleted.

The layers folder contains all layers that you have created yourself or imported into the program. Depending on the existing modules, additional folders are created e.g. for each plot attempt you create in MiniGIS. You can name these folders yourself when you create them and contain the two layers associated with an experiment.

To activate the background map, a BING Maps key must be stored in the settings (Extras → Settings). The views differ accordingly if a single-channel raster file or a multi-channel raster file is selected

Single channel raster file:

In the dropdown gray, all channels of the selected raster file are listed and can be selected. The values of the selected channel of the raster file are then used for the color tones in the displayed image.
With Min and Max, the minimum and maximum values for the stretching of the color range can be defined. When loading raster files, these values are initially filled with standard parameters or adapt if one of the coloring stretching functions is carried out.
In the case of color, there is the option of defining the coloring scheme for the single-channel raster file. Rainbow is standard here. In the rainbow it is also possible to use the slider to limit the color range used so that the entire area of the rainbow is not used for coloring.

With the drop-down profile, a predefined camera profile can be loaded, then the other parameters are preset using this profile. The camera profiles can be configured in the settings for the copter module (link: setting and jump to area).
With the dropdown red, all channels of the selected raster file are listed and can be selected. The values of the selected channel of the raster file are then used for the red tones in the displayed image.
With the dropdown green, all channels of the selected raster file are listed and can be selected. The values of the selected channel of the raster file are then used for the green tones in the displayed image.
With the dropdown blue, all channels of the selected raster file are listed and can be selected. The values of the selected channel of the raster file are then used for the blue tones in the displayed image.
The parameters Min and Max are available for all three colors, here the minimum and maximum values for the extension of the color range can be defined for the respective color. When loading raster files, these values are initially filled with standard parameters or adapt if one of the coloring stretching functions is carried out.

Stretches the color range for the display of raster files to the entire area of the layer and thus to the minimum and maximum values that occur in the raster file.

Note: This is only an adjustment of the color representation, the actual values of the raster file are not processed.

Stretches the color range for the display of raster files to the visible area and thus to the minimum and maximum values in the visible area of the map view. This function can be helpful to take a closer look at smaller sections of a raster file, as extreme values at the edge area etc. are no longer included in the stretching.

Note: This is only an adjustment of the color representation, the actual values of the raster file are not processed.

Stretches the color range for the display of raster files to the visible area and thus to the minimum and maximum values in the visible area of the map view. What is special here is that the minimum 2% and the maximum 2% are not included. This function can be helpful if there are extreme values in the raster file that otherwise negatively affect the color range.

Depending on the content, either a layer, an experiment, one or more objects or data for the database is pasted into the clipboard.

Any number of levels can be combined to form one level. The only restriction here is that the layers themselves must be of the same type (polygon, line, point), the type is specified by the selected layer and only layers of the same type are offered in the dialog for merging.

– List with possible layers, all layers with a tick are put together.

– In the drop-down target layer, a list of layers can be used to select the layer in which the combined data comes. A new layer can also be created (symbol: add.png)

With OK the selected layers are merged into one level, the original layers remain unchanged unless one of the original layers has been defined as the target layers because the data of the remaining layers are inserted into this layer.

Here all objects of the selected layers are filled with the desired color (polygons) or drawn (lines, points)

You can adapt the coloring for a layer to the values of a layer attribute (database field).

To do this, right-click on the corresponding layer in the layer list and select classification. A new dialog window opens.

Select the database field to be used for classification from the drop-down list and specify how many classes should be created.

Now select the beginning and end of the color range to be used.
