The selection tool is active by default and is used to select objects of one level in the map view. If you want to select several objects at the same time, you can select one object, hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard and select additional objects with the mouse. You can also open a window while holding down the left mouse button, whereby all objects in it are marked after the mouse button is released.
While the selection tool is active, the P and Z keys can be used to activate the tools for moving the view or zooming to the selected area. These tools are active as long as the P or Z keys are held down. Measuring tool for length and area measurement in the map view.
Clicking on the map view starts the measurement process. Each further click sets a point on the line to be measured which, connected to the first point, gives the measured area. The measurement process is ended by double-clicking in the map view or ESC. The current value is displayed updated with every mouse movement. Measurements are only temporary and disappear as soon as they are completed.
